It is really the simplest things that bring the most joy.

We are back home from our Christmas adventures.  Paige was well for Christmas, Praise GOD.  We had a wonderful time visiting our family and a few friends along the way.  I decided that Christmas needs to last a week.  This whole cramming two families into one day is just exhausting.  I feel like I did not really get to fully take it all in.  Paige had a great time.  Last year, she slept through Christmas, this year she was excited, a bit overwhelmed, but excited.  We had to open gifts in shifts because it was just too much for her.  After all the fabulous gifts she got, her favorite thing you ask, a singing card from grandma that was in her stocking.  It is still the one thing she plays with the most often.  It really is the simplest things....

Moms really do know best....

I have not blogged all week, Paige has been sick.  According to the doctor Monday and then again Tuesday she was fine, just let her rest.  Paige was sick, she was not fine.  She only wanted to be held, she cried, she moaned, she was miserable and the doctor did nothing.  So, we took her home and let her rest and continued to wonder what was wrong.  I am an avid reader when it comes to my child, I research everything.  (I am certain doctors hate the internet).  I took Paige back Friday to discover she has a reaction to the MMR shot that was given ten days previous.  She had a minor case of the measles from the shot and an ear infection.  I told the doctor that she was sick on Monday, I do not know why she did not listen.  I am frustrated that we have gone 5 days without medication.  I thank GOD we have some medicine now, so Paige can get healthy for Christmas.  Nothing is harder than seeing your baby sick and suffering and not being able to comfort them.  Please pray that Paige continues to get better and the medicine kicks in soon!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

We got snow!  That is right, Wed. night snow was actually falling in college station.  I knew no one would believe us, so we just had to take snow pics.  The snow was beautiful just a bit cold, so we did not get too many pics.  At least, I can tell Paige that she has seen snow in Texas.

Where has the time gone?

BIRTHDAY PRESENT FROM DADDY!
PRINCESS CHAIR.
MOMMY OPENING MY PRESENTS.
I'M ONE T-SHIRT (WORE ON WED)
Last week my baby girl turned one.  WHere has the time gone?  I remember last year, around this time, getting up all night, looking at Lee saying, when will she sleep?  A year later, she sleeps 12 hours, she plays, she laughs, she brings more joy to our lives than we ever thought possible.  Wed. Paige turned one.  Anyone who has a child can relate to my feelings, I am sure.  IT was like Tuesday she was a baby, and Wed she woke up a big girl.  Time has flown.  WHere has the year gone.  Every time the song, "It wont be like this for long" comes on the radio I just sit and sob.  I knew she was going to get big, I just was not quite ready.  I wonder if I will feel this way at each birthday celebration.....
Paige had her bday party on Saturday.  It was wonderful.  We had about 40 friends and family at our house for fajitias and fun.  THe kids played and played.  Paige had such a wonderful day, Lee and I feel so blessed to have such great friends in our lives.
Enjoy our party pics:

A is for Aggie

Tuesday Night we took Paige to her first Aggie event.  Lee and I are football season ticket holders, but did not bring Paige this season, we were not sure that she was ready.  She is such a busy little girl, we could not imagine her sitting still for longer than ten minutes.  However, we thought we would chance a basketball game.  For one, Paige is free into basketball games, so we figured if she hated it, we could just leave.  It was a special game because the aggies were playing Lee's alumni SFA.  He really wanted the whole family to go and see the game.  Paige did awesome.  We stayed until about 5 minutes till the end.  It was getting way past her bedtime.  She sawed Varsity's horns off, cheered with the yell leaders and screamed with excitement.  She stood the whole game, I informed her that only students have to do this, but she insisted.  We are really grooming her well!:)

Pump it up....Or don't....

SWEET GIRLS PLAYING WITH NEW TOYS.
Papaw I want this for Christmas!
a new friend.
Hating the slide.
Pump it up!
Friday night we headed down to Houston to help celebrate my niece's 2nd birthday.  Her birthday party was Saturday morning at Pump it Up Jr.  For those who have never heard of this place I have attached pics.  It is pretty amazing, next best thing to disney Land.  It is amazing... Have I said this already?  So, we walked in and Paige freaked out.  She started screaming.  She hated it.  It was not even a little bit magical to her.  So, Uncle Steven took her down the slide, which she hated too.  We finally found some Paige friendly activities after about thirty minutes.  It looks like we will not be having a BOUNCE party any time soon.  The girls had so much fun playing with all of Megan's new toys.  THey are at such a fun stage where they play and talk.  No one knows what they say to each other, but they do.  Cousins make the best friends.....

Wild, Wacky Weekend.....

Friday night we celebrated Paige's first Halloween.  We had so much fun.  We went trick-or-treating with some friends from work and their twins.  Paige had a blast.  She was not loving her costume however.  She could not understand why she should wear a hat.  She kept throwing it on the ground and laughing.  A bow she will do, hat was not happening.  So in most pics her hat is off and bow is in place.  We walked around the neighborhood and got lots of candy.  Paige had her first sucker and loved it.  I do not know if the stroller will ever stop being sticky.  By the end of the night, Paige had sucker on her arms, in her hair on the stroller, on mom.  It was so wonderful to celebrate another holiday with her.  She is just too fun.
Happy day light savings time!  Sidenote, Babies do not understand that we get to sleep in an extra hour on these days... Paige got up extra early!  Here we go again!

Family Fun at the Farm

I am about a week late in posting.  My comprehensive exams for graduate school are in less than 3 weeks, so my nights consist of studying and more studying.  Why did I go back to school again?
Anyways, Last weekend we had a mini family reunion at our land in Lyons, Texas.  We all meet out there around noon and just spent the day relaxing and visiting.  Lee caught tons of fish and almost lost his fishing pole.  He tried to get Paige to fish but she is just not that interested.  She played with all of her cousins.  They  just ate her up.  It was a wonderful day!

Paige and the Pumpkin Patch

Tonight after I picked Paige up from daycare, we met daddy at the pumpkin patch near our house to pick out our Halloween pumpkins.  We decided on two.  One for mommy and daddy to carve and one for Paige.  Paige was in awe of all the pumpkins and really fascinated by all the people there.    We tried to get Paige to pick out her little bitty pumpkin, however, she was more amazed with the grass.  We had a great time and it was fun to see expressions at the patch. Another great memory, I can not wait until Halloween!

Scarecrow Festival!

All week we have talked about it.  When Sunday finally came, we all knew where we were headed.....the scarecrow festival.  Lee and I really wanted to do something fun with Paige and this seemed like just the thing.  There was shopping, a train ride, great fair food, a petting zoo and more.  We had a really great day overall.  It was much hotter than anticipated and Paige got a bit restless towards then end, and then we took her to the petting zoo and all was well again.  She loves animals, all animals.  She was a little hesitant of any of the animals bigger than Bandit, our bulldog.  It is awesome to be able to take her places and for her to actually participate and have fun.  My little baby is getting so big!

Crazy Cousins

MEGAN AND PAIGE READING
PAIGE TRYING TO BE BIG
SILLY GOOSE!
HEY MEG, I WANT TO READ....
Last weekend we headed to Katy on Friday night.  Lee needed to help Steven and Katie move and I was to watch Paige and my niece.  They are at such a fun age.  Megan is almost two and Paige is ten months.  They actually play together now.  They are so funny to watch, it is just so awesome.  We spent the entire weekend in Katy which is a first for us.  We are usually rushing back so Lee can cover a shift or catch up on work.  This weekend we just relaxed.  We napped, we played, and visited with family.  It was a lot of fun. It is interesting how fun changes once you have children.  It is then that the simplest things bring the most joy.

Paige slept past 7 all weekend!  Whoop!

6 is the new 7!

Ok... So Paige has slept from 7-7 since she was Two and a half months old. Last week we started staying up a bit later and getting up at 6. She is ready to rock and roll at six. I thought at first she would just go back to sleep, then I start to hear banging. She starts throwing her pacifiers against the wall, I am not sure why she does this. Maybe to get our attention? All week has been 6, I am starting to think it is no longer a phase and more like her routine now.

Sidenote, Lee and I have lost our ditigital camera! I took pics on it Tuesday night to post and now its gone, so here are some silly old Paige pics. Enjoy!
