It is really the simplest things that bring the most joy.

We are back home from our Christmas adventures.  Paige was well for Christmas, Praise GOD.  We had a wonderful time visiting our family and a few friends along the way.  I decided that Christmas needs to last a week.  This whole cramming two families into one day is just exhausting.  I feel like I did not really get to fully take it all in.  Paige had a great time.  Last year, she slept through Christmas, this year she was excited, a bit overwhelmed, but excited.  We had to open gifts in shifts because it was just too much for her.  After all the fabulous gifts she got, her favorite thing you ask, a singing card from grandma that was in her stocking.  It is still the one thing she plays with the most often.  It really is the simplest things....

Moms really do know best....

I have not blogged all week, Paige has been sick.  According to the doctor Monday and then again Tuesday she was fine, just let her rest.  Paige was sick, she was not fine.  She only wanted to be held, she cried, she moaned, she was miserable and the doctor did nothing.  So, we took her home and let her rest and continued to wonder what was wrong.  I am an avid reader when it comes to my child, I research everything.  (I am certain doctors hate the internet).  I took Paige back Friday to discover she has a reaction to the MMR shot that was given ten days previous.  She had a minor case of the measles from the shot and an ear infection.  I told the doctor that she was sick on Monday, I do not know why she did not listen.  I am frustrated that we have gone 5 days without medication.  I thank GOD we have some medicine now, so Paige can get healthy for Christmas.  Nothing is harder than seeing your baby sick and suffering and not being able to comfort them.  Please pray that Paige continues to get better and the medicine kicks in soon!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

We got snow!  That is right, Wed. night snow was actually falling in college station.  I knew no one would believe us, so we just had to take snow pics.  The snow was beautiful just a bit cold, so we did not get too many pics.  At least, I can tell Paige that she has seen snow in Texas.

Where has the time gone?

BIRTHDAY PRESENT FROM DADDY!
PRINCESS CHAIR.
MOMMY OPENING MY PRESENTS.
I'M ONE T-SHIRT (WORE ON WED)
Last week my baby girl turned one.  WHere has the time gone?  I remember last year, around this time, getting up all night, looking at Lee saying, when will she sleep?  A year later, she sleeps 12 hours, she plays, she laughs, she brings more joy to our lives than we ever thought possible.  Wed. Paige turned one.  Anyone who has a child can relate to my feelings, I am sure.  IT was like Tuesday she was a baby, and Wed she woke up a big girl.  Time has flown.  WHere has the year gone.  Every time the song, "It wont be like this for long" comes on the radio I just sit and sob.  I knew she was going to get big, I just was not quite ready.  I wonder if I will feel this way at each birthday celebration.....
Paige had her bday party on Saturday.  It was wonderful.  We had about 40 friends and family at our house for fajitias and fun.  THe kids played and played.  Paige had such a wonderful day, Lee and I feel so blessed to have such great friends in our lives.
Enjoy our party pics:

A LOT TO BE THANKFUL FOR....

opening a Thanksgiving gift.
Loving cousin John.
Thanksgiving break was wonderful.  We got a chance to visit both of our families and really relax.  My mom and I went shopping and Lee got to go to a car show with some friends from hs.  We had a great time and got to thinking that we have so much to be thankful for this year.
I am thankful for:
1. My beautiful, healthy daughter
2. That we have all of our needs met.
3.  The house I live in.
4.  The jobs we have.
5.  My husband that supports me 100%.
6.  Our great families.
7.  Graduate School is almost over.
